A plait? Ah, I saw this way of translating it in my dictionary
I don't mind, either way. are those different gender words for braid in Russian? mmm...... I'm a bit iffy about genders, most native English speakers are. to me a table is a table, not a woman.

And no-no, these aren't different genders (though in Russian every object has it's own gender: male, female or neuter O.O And braid is female OxO... =_=). "Kosichka" is just a diminutive form of "kosa"
